At the meeting, an in-depth communication and discussion was also conducted on issues such as IASP’s future development strategy. As IASP President Hebert CHEN said, “One of the fundamental values of a successful association is to build a vibrant network that facilitates the communications and discussions among the members. Over the past 40 years, IASP has successfully established a global network of science and technology parks. By holding the annual world conferences and regional events, IASP enables park managers from all over the world to better understand and cooperate with each other. As a service platform for global science parks and areas of innovation, IASP itself also needs to continuously carry out reform and innovation. Our members of the International Board of Directors not only have extensive working experience in the operation of science parks, but also have accumulated many years of practical experience in organizational management. I appreciate all of the members and call on you to take full advantage of this meeting to share your inspiration, wisdom, and actionable solutions. It is my wish that, with your constant participation and support, the Association will continue to thrive.” What’s more, President Hebert CHEN also shared his ideas, specific measures and implementation plans with the directors on topics including the future reform and development of IASP.
After the meeting, the directors who participated in the offline meeting at the IASP headquarters in Spain also visited the Malaga Science Park, DEKRA’s test facility and their test system for Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs).
Directors from Denmark, Ecuador, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the United States attended the meeting on the scene, and directors from China, India, Panama, Thailand, and the United Kingdom participated in the event via video connection. This is the first time that IASP has held a meeting of International Board of Directors concurrently in both online and offline forms. The conference system has proven effective and satisfactory, enabling a smooth online and offline communication and making the event a complete success.
